Award Description: The Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) is a formula grant awarded annually to states and local jurisdictions to be used for law enforcement purposes. Allocation of Funds: Total Allocation for Mecklenburg County $4,453,144 City of Charlotte: $3,200,544 *Mecklenburg County $1,066,849 Town of Cornelius $13,349 Town of Huntersville $50,010 Town of Matthews $37,225 Town of Mint Hill $37,977 Town of Pineville $47,190 * Mecklenburg County funds were transferred from the City of Charlotte under the disparate jurisdiction provision of the JAG grant. The MOU is included as a separate attachment.

Project Description: Sub-recipients were notified of their awards and given guidelines on their procurement process and how to submit expenses. The DMVR procurement process has started and is scheduled for City Council approval on October 12th. The procurement process for the laptops and tasers is being reviewed and will be purchased within the next reporting period. The Police Athletic League (PAL) has started their after-school program for at-risk students.
