Award Description: Bureau of Justice Assistance Justice Assistance Recovery Grant funding to be used to purchase 800 MHz Radios for implementation of an interoperable radio system.
Project Description: Funds for the grant were drawndown and funds for the purchase of 43 mobile Motorola 800 MHz radios have been encumbered as of 09/30/2009. Funds for the remaining 20 portable radios are pending encumberance.
Jobs Summary: The funds expended under this grant were designated and approved for technology and communications infrastructure improvements and not for the direct creation of jobs. Funds were used to improve the conditions of jobs of sworn officers as well as provide funds for needed equipment that may have otherwise been drawn for available funds from salaries. Funds spent on technology were immediately returned to the community and regional economy. (Total jobs reported: 0)
