Project Description: 2009 JAG ARRA funds will be used to pay for personnel, equipment, and supplies to enable the Lima Police Department and the Allen County Sheriff's Office to conduct routine policing of Lima, including street violence, drug offenses, vandalism, and other offenses. Funds will be used to retain 2 sworn deputy sheriff positions that otherwise would have been cut, and re-hire for one correctional officer position that was cut due to budget reductions. Equipment funds totaling $129,297 will be used to acquire an American-made police cruiser, digital video systems, and radio communication consoles.
Jobs Summary: Two positions are ones that would have been eliminated if it weren't for this grant funding. The third position is a re-hire; an officer was laid off earlier this year due to budget cuts, and was re-hired with CHRP grant funds. (All positions have been filled, but number of jobs is less than 3 because grant funding began mid-quarter.) (Total jobs reported: 1)
Project Status: Less Than 50% Completed
