Award Description: Provides nutrition services for frail elderly in congregate meal settings. Funding is distributed through the Area Agencies on Aging to local and county/tribal aging offices. These offices may contract for a variety of services including meal preparation, transportation, and facility rental. Results and measures may include number of meals and persons served.
Project Description: ARRA funding for nutrition services to the elderly by serving congregate meals through local Area Agencies on Aging. Funding will support the continued delivery of meals to vulnerable Americans and help seniors maintain their health. As of 9/29/09, 50,514 meals were served to 6,941 different individuals age 60 and older.
