Award Description: The project focuses on the fundamental engineering necessary to develop the direct production of fuel hydrocarbons from cellulose-based waste feedstock. Gliocladium roseum is a recently isolated endophytic fungus, which produces hydrocarbons. This porject integrates genomic data, bioengineering, metabolic modeling and fuel combustion analysis to optimize fuel production from renewable resources
Project Description: Indentify the metabolic pathways responsible for biodiesel production by obtaining the complete sequence of the fungal genome and advancing the annotation of that sequence
