Award Description: Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms Underlying Function and Dysfunction of Neural Circuits. The overall purpose of this award is to recruit two junior faculty members (principal investigators) to a new Program in Neural Circuits and Behavior. Funds will support salaries of the principal investigatorsand those of support staff, as well as supplied and instruments, to establish research programs in the Departments of Neurobiology and Neuroscience.

Project Description: The overall purpose of the award is to support the establishment of a research program in the area of neural circuits and behavior by hiring two faculty and support staff, and providing resources for supplies and instrumentation. These investigators will examine the organization of brain circuits and how they may be affected in neuological and psychiatric disorders.
