Project Description: The purpose of this grant is to secure an architectural firm to develop the detailed plans necessary for licensing approval, required before we begin construction of our new facility. Caring Health Center, Inc. (CHC) completed the bidding process. The Request for Proposal was mailed out Wednesday, July 1, 2009, with a two week written qualification turnaround time of July 24, 2009. Eleven applicants out of thirty six (36) responded. CHC scheduled a site walk-thru, July 9, 2009, at 9:00 AM. Twelve architectural firms were represented during the site walk thru. Tania Barber, Chief Operations Officer led the tour. Subsequently, CHC?s Senior Management Team met with Barr & Barr, Inc (a consulting group) to determine the criteria for scoring the applicants. Barr & Barr provided a scoring (matrix) sheet with a weighting scale to use as a guidance to rate each applicant. This matrix was based on questions directly from the proposal. CHC formed an Architectural Selection Committee; the Chief Operations Officer, Facilities Coordinator and Program Coordinator for Operations. A review process of the eleven applicants was conducted. Once this process was completed a second committee (e.g., CHC executive staff members) reviewed the applicants. A consensus was made narrowing the list down to three finalists. The three firms selected were Steffian Bradley Architects, Harriss Architects, and Dietz & Company Architects, Inc. The interviewing process of the three finalists was held August 25, 2009. The interviewees consisted of CHC?s Architectural Selection Committee, CHC?s Senior Management Team and the Facilities Committee (e.g., Board members). There was a consensus amongst all committees. Dietz & Company Architect, Inc. was the final selection. A second meeting was held with Dietz, September, 10, 2009. September 29, 2009, Dietz was approved by CHC?s Board of Directors. A preliminary meeting has been scheduled for October 15, 2009 for future planning.

Jobs Summary: We have secured an architectural firm, but no jobs were created during this quarter. (See above project activities). (Total jobs reported: 0)
