Award Description: The proposed studies are designed to evaluate the role of danger signals produced following alcohol exposure to the brain. These danger signals trigger the production of inflammatory molecules which are capable of mediating alcohol?induced neuropathogenesis as well as behavior including alcohol abuse and alcoholism. The goal of the proposed studies is to determine the mechanisms by which alcohol modulates neuropathogenesis and behavior at different life?stages.
