Project Description: HIGHWAY RESURFACING, ROUTE 5 AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS FROM WASHINGTON AVENUE (CITY OF SCHENECTADY) TO EAGLE STREET (CITY OF ALBANY). INSTALL SEVERAL BUS RAPID TRANSIT (BRT) STATIONS AND AMERICAN WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) COMPLIANT PEDESTRIAN RAMPS.
Infrastructure Description: 4R Reconstruction, No Added Capacity. Preserve/Create jobs; and economic recovery. Invest in transportation.
Jobs Summary: Pavement improvements on Route 5 in Albany, Schenectady and the towns of Colonie, Albany County, and Niskayuna, Schenectady County. Work also will include the installation at 159 intersections of ramps and sidewalk transitions compliant with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act, upgrading of pedestrian signals at 34 intersections and site preparation work for bus-rapid-transit stations at nine locations.
