Award Description: CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
Project Description: Architect has begun to detail the schematic design submitted with the grant application to reflect the areas where hot water will be available: (2) bathrooms, kitchen area, (4) examination rooms; where the solar heater and panels will be installed; detailed exam rooms with appropriate equipment/ furniture; and other modifications within office that will support this renovation. He has contacted the positions necessary to begin the renovation: contractor, plumber, electrician, solar water contractor for their input and potential bids. The HIT Consultant has begun to identify the elements necessary for Na Pu`uwai to begin to build its portal and linkages; met with staff to determine level and degree of EHR readiness, but more importantly, knowledge and purpose of EHRs; to begin comparing the different EHR platforms, proprietary, 'off-the-shelf,' and proposed custom designed; visited designated sites that EHR would be implemented; and determined NP readiness in terms of what would be needed to develop, install, and implement any HIT.
