Award Description: To suppport arts projects and activities which preserve jobs in the nonprofit arts sector threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn.

Project Description: The Kansas Arts Commission (KAC) received $301,7000 in funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. $262,556 was distributed to 12 organizations to preserve 18 jobs in the arts; the KAC retained the remainder to administer the program. Guidelines were posted on the KAC website on April 21, 2009. Kansas arts organizations and government agencies qualifying for KAC Operational Support grants for FY 2009 & 2010 were eligible to apply for the program.

Jobs Summary: A total of 17 Jobs were supported by this NEA ARRA grant. The breakdown of positions support are as follows: 14 Administrative positions, 1 Artistic position, 1 Technical and 1 Educational position were supported by this grant. (Total jobs reported: 8)
