Award Description: Full-time AmeriCorps Members will create, improve, and expand the services of local community and faith-based organizations, providing valuable services to community members in the areas of housing, education, youth development, public health, public safety, community and economic development and other human needs. Part-time AmeriCorps Members will outreach to homes in impoverished neighborhoods, educating residents and homeowners on energy efficiency. Members will also conduct energy audits and home weatherizations.
Project Description: Full-time Recovery Act AmeriCorps Members have provided critical direct services to 3,945 community residents. AmeriCorps Members have also recruited 312 volunteers, who through 901 hours of service have provided assistance to an additional 4,905 community members.
Jobs Summary: Due to Recovery funding, we created and retained 140 AmeriCorps member positions. These members provided the activities described in the project description section. We also created and retained 13 AmeriCorps staff positions. (Total jobs reported: 153)
