Award Description: Employment and education training to young adults, ages 16-24, who did not graduate from high school. Participants will be given the opportunities to develop the skills necessary to achieve economic self-sufficiency and to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Project Description: Birmingham YouthBuild provides employment readiness training, leadership development, employment placement assistance and edcuational advancement opportunities for young adults, ages 18-24 who did not graduate from high school.
Jobs Summary: This award has made it possible for a case manager, project director, 2 construction trainers and a peer trainer to retain their jobs. New jobs were created for an employment specialist, a GED instructor and 2 van drivers. (Total jobs reported: 9)
