Award Description: Nutrition services for elderly -- home delivered meals: Provides nutrition services to elderly, including home delivered meals. Funding is distributed to local, county and tribal agencies by Area Agencies on Aging . The local officices contract with a variety of servcies to do meal preparation, transportation, and facility rental. Results and measures include the number of meals and persons served.
Project Description: ARRA funding to augment existing Nutrition Services to Homebound Elderly to provide additional meals and help seniors maintain their health. As of 9/29/09, 38,993 meals have been provided to 2,234 different homebound individuals age 60 and above.
