Award Description: Conducted modernization activities at Sayre Public Housing Authority Development in Sayre Beckham County, Oklahoma. This funding resulted in providing employment in the United States for construction workers who removed old roofing and installed the new metal roofing with 26 ga. metal from Wheeling Corrugated. Wheeling also provided all the metal trim. It also provided employment for the U.S. truck drivers and laborers who transported the metal and loaded and unloaded the trucks. In addision this substantially modernized the Sayre Publich Housing Authoirty units and greatly improved the looks of the units. If the Contractors found structural damage, the contractor prepared a change order presented it to management for consideration.
Project Description: The modernization project of the Sayre Public Housing Authority bought the metal roofing and trim for 10 units and completed the roofs on 3 units consisting of 4 apartments in 2 units and 3 apartments in 1 unit. The reason for buying the extra metal was because the cost of metal was very low at this time and it saved a considerable amount of money to order it while it was at its lowest. It was ordered by Dyson Construction (with a builders discount )through ACE Hardware. The extra metal was later used in the completion of the remaining 7 units.
