Award Description: Enhancing State Government Energy Assurance Capabilities and Planning for Smart Grid Resiliency. Grant was awarded on August 14, 2009 and no expenditures have been made to date. Expected outcomes include management plan, workforce development plan, energy assurance plan, documented process for tracking disruption events, Intra and inter state emergency exercises. Units of measure include number of energy assurance plans created, number of jobs created within state agencies, number of energy assurance training sessions, workshops and/or exercises, and number of people trained.
Project Description: MEA received the grant award on August 14, 2009. MEA is in process of completing the Project Management Plan and beginning work on the Workforce Development Plan due by November 10, 2009. Efforts are underway to interview and hire an Energy Assurance Manager and Analyst to perform the requisite tasks and achieve the deliverables/milestones.
