Award Description: Assist NYCHA in carrying out Capital and Management Activities at public housing developments in accordance with the requirements of ARRA, including Title XVI general provisions of the ARRA, in order to ensure that such developments continue to be available to serve low income families.

Project Description: NYCHA has engaged in design and procurement activities that have resulted in the award of 52 projects. We have obligated $143 million (43% of the ARRA allocation)and expended $3.6 million. The ARRA funded projects include: replacement and upgrade of elevators, heating system upgrades, installations of energy efficient appliances, roofing replacment and brickwork repairs.

Infrastructure Description: The ARRA funded projects include elevator replacement, installation of safety devices and remote monitoring systems, installation of boilers, heating systems upgrades of valves and traps, exterior and interior trash compactors, installation of energy efficient refrigerators and ranges, roofing replacement, brick facade repairs and structural repairs to rooftop water tanks.
