Award Description: To support arts projects and activities which preserve jobs in the nonprofit arts sector threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn.
Project Description: In July 2009 the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) sent out Request for Proposals to Arts in Education Partners to conduct Teachers Artists Partnerships. The RFP’s were due back the beginning of October. The proposals were reviewed with staff and lead consultants. In the month of October each site will be visited for on site training and mentoring. Teacher Artist Partnerships are expected to begin the beginning of November.
Jobs Summary: The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) proposes to support the continued and extended employment of teaching artists in residencies in schools and community settings across the Commonwealth. This provides employment for up to 40 artists who would not otherwise be employed or extends the employment of artists presently engaged in residency work. Participating artists will be selected from the PCA’s Directory of Artists in Education. (Total jobs reported: 0)
