Award Description: The State of Tennessee's Independent Living Services for Older Individuals Who Are Blind Program (OIB) grant award under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). These funds are provided in accordance with section 807 of the ARRA, which allows the Secretary of Education to award these ARRA funds on the basis of eligibility determinations made for fiscal year (FY) 2009 for the OIB program and the provision of the certification required by section 1607 of the ARRA.
Project Description: To improve and expand Independent Living services; serve additional consumers, especially populations that are unserved or underserved; increase the capacity of the service providers; and maximize employment opportunities and economic benefits to individuals.
