Award Description: Energy Study for silver LEED certification for 1800 F Street, NW Modernization. Studies to include: 1. Relocation of HVAC piping 2. Window replacement 3. Improve vertical glazing performance 4. Mechanized shade system at the Atria 5. Sunscreen design at the Atria 6. Use of green facade 7. Additional envelope insulation 8. Use of solar technologies 9. Utilization of higher performance plumbing fixtures 10.Utilization of alternative HVAC systems in the new Atria 11. Upgrade mechanical components to improve energy recovery 12. Upgrade systems controls 13. Integration of LED lighting, monitoring & management of internal loads. Based on study results, selection of additional technology to be included in the project will be determined. Construction documents will be revised accordingly.

Project Description: On August 6, 2009, a presentation of the results of the High Performance Green Building Study was made to GSA senior management. Subsequently, 35 individual recommendations were selected for inclusion in the construction documents. Currently the documents are being modified for these changes.
