Award Description: The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC) CIP project will ensure that the East Boston community has access to high quality medical care, particularly diagnostic services that are vital for disease prevention and the identification of disease in early stages. The technology in this grant will dramatically increase patient ?throughput,? meaning more people could be seen in a much shorter timeframe. The technology would also improve the quality and the array of images, making diagnosis easier and more accurate. The technology will greatly improve the operational efficiency of the Center, it will lower costs and better direct funds toward patient care. These funds will enable the Center to fully leverage technology and to work better and smarter. Our project also includes renovations and improvements to our physical space that will enable the Center to house the new equipment, maximize patient privacy, and provide a more comfortable environment for patients, which we believe will lead to more people coming to the Center for these important diagnostic tests. Lastly, the new information technology infrastructure will optimize the efficiency of the entire Center. Patients may never see the technical infrastructure behind this new technology, but they will clearly gain the benefits of less waiting time for appointments and faster and more accurate diagnosis.
Project Description: During the first quarter of this award, EBNHC has purchased much of the equipment necessary for new information technology comprised of items from our submitted equipment list.
