Award Description: National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship program Supplement. This award is awarded pursuant to the National Science Foundation Act of 1950. Award is based on 12 months of tenure at $30,000 (taxable) per fellow as a maximum annual stipend and $10,500 cost-of-education intstituitonal allowance per fellow. This award is for use in the following fellowship years: 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12. The provisions of the 'Guide for Fellows & GRFP Coordinating officials, NSF 09-62, August 2009 ( http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/policydocs/grfpfellow.pdf) ' are aplicable.Expenditure of grant funds are not restricted to NSF Graduate Fellows named in a grant instrument; available grant balances may be used for any such fellow who is in compliance with applicable program guidelines. The NSF GRFP funds fellows based upon an application and review process by the NSF. Fellows may receive up to three years of funding over a five year period. Recipieents declare and affiliate with a graduate instituition and must annual mkae a tenure declaration. To receive funding reicipients have to be enrolled and actively pursuing their NSF-related research duties. Recepients must also submit annual activities (brief and informative) report to the NSF.
