Award Description: Development and Delivery of Hydrographic Survey Data Products and Automation of Data Processing Methods
Project Description: Completed security training related requirements Completed setup and configuration of computer workstations. Received training in software applications that will be utilized during the course of the project. Developed a detailed project work plan. Review of project plan and working schedule. Began initial data collection. Downloaded Raster Navigational Charts (RNCs) and Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) for Gulf Coast region. Downloaded National Geodetic Survey (NGS) Monuments for Gulf Coast region. Downloaded National Oceanic Service (NOS) Surveys for Gulf Coast region (MLLW) to NAVD88 using VDatum. Corresponded with Coastal Survey Development Lab (CSDL) to provide us with NOS non-superseded Survey database for Gulf Coast region Downloaded Multibeam data for Mobile Transformed Multibeam data to NADV88 using VDatum. Isolated National Elevation Dataset (NED) 1/9 and NED 1/3 arc second data for Mobile. Started conversion of United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) dredging files from DNG to .SHP for Mobile. Downloaded high-resolution coastline for Mobile Continued data collection for the Project Area. Transformed Louisiana LiDAR data to suitable coordinate system. Processed raw point data into raster grids for coverage checks and QC purposes. Continued QC of project area data. Processed 2 LSU LiDAR tiles to Bare-Earth for use in DEM production. Transformed ENC (Electronic Nautical Chart) data into common datum and format. Created preliminary bathymetric surface. Began QCing bathymetric surface by additional editing of NOS, ENC, and USACE dredging data and coastline. Approximately 50% of the bathymetric surface has been QCed. Drafted a plan for improving NGDC web services per the contract SOW. Designed a new web application for creating and validating a seismic metadata document.
