Award Description: AmeriCorps members tutor students in language arts, reading and math; recruit volunteers; provide employment and skills training and counseling; jobs placement; housing rehabilitation, weatherization and efficient energy services; and increase the number of clients served per year; provide services related to home forclosure and housing assistance programs.
Project Description: 72 AmeriCorps members will provide 8,000 hours of services to 45 disabled clients;provide job readiness and financial literacy to 1,006 individuals; provide academic and tutoring services to 925 students;engage 100 volunteers; weatherize 50 homes, rehab 2 houses; provide weatherization services to 1,000 individuals; educate 1,000 students about energy efficiency; provide housing to 100 individuals; provide food to 1,600 individuals.
Jobs Summary: Due to recovery funding we created and retained 72 AmeriCorps member positions. These members provided the activities described in the project description section. We also created and retained 4 AmeriCorps staff positions (Total jobs reported: 56)
