Award Description: RECOVERY ACT: 2009 CHOCTAW ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT
Project Description: The Choctaw Strategic Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plan outlines key issues related to economics and energy use on Tribal land and in relation to Tribal endeavors. Choctaw Nation has developed the plan as a phase approach. Phase I: Choctaw Nation Headquarters - will focus on finalizing an energy management infrastructure at the Choctaw Nation as well as implementing energy efficiency and conservation activities at select Tribal Headquarter facilities located in Durant, Oklahoma. Phase I will also include data collection and analysis for the remaining facilities within the Tribal Headquarters complex. Phase II: Other Choctaw Nation Facilities - will see the implementation of energy efficiency and conservation activities at the other critical facilities. Phase II will also start implementing energy conservation measures, e.g. retrofits, in Tribal members' homes.
