Award Description: (1) Municipal building retrofits. $7,045,800. Allowable activities to improve energy efficiency: insulation, windows, solar hot water and/or HVAC. Distributed to municipalities. (2) Lighting. $2,472,696. Interior and exterior energy efficient lighting. Distributed to municipalities. NOTE: WI Dept of Commerce will distribute and administer these funds through the eGrants system using online application and reporting procedures. (3) Outreach and Education. $1,400,000. Divided into two sub-areas: (3a) Energy Independent Communities, $500,000. To develop 25x'25 plans, creating a 'road map' to energy independence specific to the community. (3b) Outreach and education to the statewide, general population, $900,000. Awards will be distributed via an RFP process, administered by OEI. Eligible applicants must be able to reach out statewide to affect an understanding of energy efficiency in an larger energy usage and environmental context.

Project Description: October 2009: The application for non-entitlement communities is online and active. All applications from municipalities are due November 12, 2009. Identification of subrecipients is anticipated during the next quarter.
