Award Description: The purpose of this award is to obtain services for environmental restoration of approximately fifteen acres of soil and groundwater contaminated with radioactivity and chemicals in the Separations Process Research Unit (SPRU) land areas. Completion fo this work scope requries cleanup of radiologically and chemically contaminated soil areas in accordance with land use criteria. Completion of the work will be achieved when the folloiwng are accepted by DOE as complete: The North Field and Red Pines area is cleaned up in accordance with the SOW; Wastes have been shipped and disposed off-site in a permitted disponsal facility; Final Cleanup Report for the radiological cleanup is completed and approved by DOE; The land areas remediated are restored and graded for proper drainage and reseeded or repaved as appropriate; RCRA Investigation(s) of Volitile Organic Compounds in the Red Pines Area is completed and the regulator concurs with the assessment.
Project Description: The majority of key North Field project planning and implementation documents have been submitted or are planned to be finished and submitted in the next reporting period. Initial mobilization activities have begun including surveying and staking of the load out and excavation area and initial clearing of the area. Procurement of the Conex trailers has been completed as well as other needed materials and supplies to support near-term mobilization efforts.
Jobs Summary: The interviewing and hiring of project office staff and field labor continues. During the past quarter, there have been engineering, accounting, construction management, field labor, field foreman and custodians jobs created or retained. (Total jobs reported: 7)
