Award Description: Retrofit this existing Public Housing site with solar panels in order to substantively improve energy efficiency and environmental performance by reducing energy costs, generate resident and PHA energy savings and reduce Green House Gas emissions attributable to energy consumption. The goal will be a 50% reduction in unit electrical usage and 100% reduction of the common areas. This HA has a Force Account Staff which will participate in the installation of the retrofit. We will be requiring the Solar Contractor to utilize Public Housing residients to the greatest extent feasible. In addition, this funding can be expected to result in providing employment for construction workers and product manufacturers.
