Award Description: Retrofitting for Energy Efficiency: CDBG-R funds will be used to initate a 'Retrofitting for Energy Efficiency' project. The Retrofitting for Energy Efficiency Project will privide up to $15,000 per home with a combintion grant and loan funding. An energy audit will be performed to determine the basic need of the home, with concentrations on the envelope of the building (including the roof, exterior walls, doors and windows), HVAC efficiency, water heaters, appliances and electrical service. The goals of the program are to increase energy efficiency and reduce the burden of utility bulls, improve the quality of life by improving indoor air quality and buffering exterior noise pollutants and contribute to having a cleaner environment and healthier neighborhood by reducing energy consumption. Approximately 33 homes will be retrofitted.
