Award Description: The Grant funds are used to increase base wages of Early Head Start staff to be competitive to salary within the Head Start field. These funds will allow us to attract and retain BA holders into teaching positions as to meet HS educational and permit mandates by 2013. By 2011 50% teaching staff in Head Start classrooms must have an AA; 2013 50% must have BA; all education coordinators must have BA in child development.
