Award Description: Awards a cost of living adjustment (COLA) increase of 1.85% in the amount of $13,627 for Early Head Start. Staff salaries over a 12 month period. Also, this action wards quality improvement funds of $32,422 for Early Head Start.
Project Description: The 1.8% ARRA COLA, TOTALING $13,627 AND THE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT FUNDS, TOTALING $32,422, WILL BE USED TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS OF STAFF. STIPENDS WILL BE PROVIDED TO STAFF WHO OBTAIN THEIR AA DEGREE, BA DEGREE, OR INCREASE THEIR STATE OF CALIFORNIA, CHILD DEVELOPMENT PERMIT. REMAINING FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR EDUCATIONAL REIMBURSEMENT TO STAFF, WHICH WILL INCLUDE THE COST OF TURITION AND BOOKS. ALL STIPENDS WILL BE PAID TO STAFF BY 9/30/10. IN ADDITION, QUALITY IMPROVEMENT FUNDS WILL BE USED TO PROVIDE VARIOUS TRAININGS TO STAFF TO ENHANCE THEIR SKILLS TO PROVIDE EFFECTIVE AND HIGH QUALITY PROGRAMMING TO INFANTS, TODDLERS, AND THEIR FAMILIES.
