Award Description: CSBG T &TA Program: Capacity-Building for Ongoing CSBG Supported by the ARRA of 2009 The West Virginia Community Action Partnership (WVCAP) is the membership organization for Community Action Agencies in West Virginia. The mission focuses on supporting and strengthening their membership while serving common interests dedicated to eliminating the causes of poverty affecting individuals, families, and communities. This grant will provide the resources to increase the capacity of WV Community Action Agencies to assure continuous growth and improvement in the delivery of services to low income individuals and families. WVCAP intends to collaborate with the Governor?s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) to provide a framework of communication and collaboration between the Governor?s Office and the sixteen Community Action Agencies in West Virginia that will usher West Virginia?s Community Action Network into a new area of strategic cooperation and technological advancement that will ensure positive impact and outcomes in improving the lives of impoverished West Virginians in the most rural of communities. In addition, WVCAP will collaborate with GOEO to develop a common strategic framework for the delivery of services and programs as they relate to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). This framework will ensure the accountability and transparency of Community Action Agencies in West Virginia as they create, fund, and execute vital programs under the auspices of ARRA.
