Award Description: ARRA Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), and Quality Improvement Funding consistent with the provisions of Section 640(a)(5) of the Head Start Act
Project Description: Project Description: ARRA COLA and Quality Funds will be used to: -Increase compensation of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program. -Improve access to dental services for children enrolled in the program. -Provide professional development to teaching staff to improve staff qualifications. -Hire 9 substitute teachers. Quarterly Activities: -9 Substitute Lead Teacher/Teacher Aide positions were posted. Two applications were received. Interviews are scheduled for both individuals. -Two dentists traveled to (2)sites and provided dental exams for 17 children. -Dental visits for the subsequent sites are scheduled and will be completed during the 2nd Quarter.
