Award Description: PA-07-070 Research Project Grant - Parent ROI
Project Description: The focus of the administrative supplement is to determine time-dependent deformation and fatigue behavior of new water-compatible, esterase-resistant adhesives that are developed as part of the parent grant. To understand property degradation in these materials, we have initiated fatigue, creep and monotonic (stress-strain) experiments on model adhesives under dry and wet conditions. The results from the fatigue investigations will be used to provide SN (stress vs. number of cycles to failure) curves for the new dentin adhesives. The results from the creep and monotonic experiments on wet and dry samples will be used to develop a model that will simulate the viscoelastic behavior of the new dentin adhesives.
