Award Description: This supplement grant is a collaboration between three institutions. The arrays will be processed at the Microarray Facility at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (Dr. Eudy) and statistically analyzed at the University of Nebraska Lincoln (Dr. Kachman). RNA will be extracted at the University of Nebraska Lincoln (Dr. Harshman) and University of Nebraska Kearney (Dr. Carlson). Dr. Harshman is the mentor of Dr. Carlson on the INBRE grant under whose auspices the supplement grant is being submitted. One of the goals of the INBRE grant is to introduce Dr. Carlson to obesity research and specific mechanisms for this goal are described in the supplement grant. The supplement creates two jobs: a technician position at the Microarray Core Facility and a graduate student line at the University of Nebraska Kearney.
