Award Description: Recruitment in the K07 project substantially picked up last year and so there are 80 participants between T1 and T5. This means that approximately 340 more clinic assessment visits need to be conducted before the end of the award period (May 31st 2010). The supplement will allow us to hasten the pace of our science by providing us the necessary manpower to get all the active participants through the study before it closes. The supplement will also allow for job creation and retention. We will be able to hire 2 new staff (a Statistical Research Associate and an Intervention Coordinator), retain 1 current staff (the Data Technician), and increase the hours for 1 current part-time staff (the Project Coordinator).
Project Description: All baseline (T1) clinic visits were completed in August and only 5 more participants were randomized into the study due to limited resources. Funding was received in late September, so plans have been made to increase time of current p-t project coordinate, retain data control tech, and hire the two p-t positions (SRA and intervention coordinator). No other significant activities have been achieved during the quarter.
