Award Description: This project involves the repair and rehabilitation of airport terminal building. Prior construction had resulted in unsafe equipment, systems that were environmentally unfriendly and areas of the building in need of structural and environmental repair. The result of this award will include an operable, safe luggage carousel, skylights that will not leak, permanent security fencing and gates, remotely controlled HVAC units, energy efficient lighting and signage, secure store fronts and a finished interior.
Project Description: Engineering design, bid specs, bid process and quote gathering, first phase mobilization and preparation. In addition, pre-bid, pre-construction and safety plan meetings have been held. Conferences with contractors for each specialty area were held to determine goals and objectives and build a critical path and milestone chart. This has been collated with all project elements for a project timeline. Work on Internet Technology, HVAC units, lighting, painting, luggage carousel and signage drafts have been completed.
Infrastructure Description: To preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery. To invest in transportation infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits and enhance the National Aviation System.
