Award Description: DEQ was awarded a State Clean Diesel Program Grant to fund an emissions control retrofit project targeting municipal diesel vehicles from Lane and Washington counties and the cities of Lake Oswego and Milwaukie; Portland-area Trimet transit buses; and publicly owned school buses in the Beaverton and Klamath County school districts. The general purpose of this grant is to reduce diesel emissions and improve air quality.
Project Description: Q1: DEQ is currently developing grant agreements with the seven subrecipients identified in the award description and anticipate the agreements will be completed by the end of October 2009. Jobs Summary: To date, ARRA funds allowed the prime recipient to retain .70 FTE at DEQ: .38 Clean Diesel Grant Administrator and .32 Clean Diesel Project Officer. Over the course of the entire project, we estimate ARRA funds will preserve 1.693 FTE: 1 Clean Diesel Grant Administrator and .693 Clean Diesel Project Officer.
