Award Description: Technology Improvement Grant The purpose of this grant is to improve the recovery and security of our electronic data in case of a catastrophic event that corrupts our internal server. This grant will allow us to purchase two servers that will work in tandem. One will be located offsite and one will be located in our department. We will also upgrade to Windows 2008 andServer 2008 which is required for two-factor authentification which will meet federal government requirements for 2010/2011 and will insure that our system is protected from unauthorized intursion.
Project Description: We have met with the selected vendor to purchase two servers and the associated software and two factor authentification. We have also selected an offsite location for one server that includes space , connectivityand power for the system.
