Award Description: The Administration for the Socioeconomic Development of the Family (ADSEF- in spanish) received funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) to pay costs associated with the distribution of USDA foods donated for us in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Such costs include (but are not limited to) storage, tranportation, handling, processing, distribution of such foods; as well as costs associated with determining and verifying beneficiary eligibility, record keeping, auditing, and other administrative procedures required for program participation. To date, the Administration for the Socioeconomic Development of the Family has: - Assigned funds for the purchase of food distribution assembly line equipment and food distribution trucks. - Used the funds to transport, handle and store the additional commodities recived as a result of ARRA.
Project Description: During the current reporting period, Administration for the Socioeconomic Development of the Family used TEFAP administrative funds provided through ARRA to transport, handle, store and process TEFAP foods in preparation for the distribution to program participants, which include persons living in households with incomes below the poverty level and the unemployed. ADSEF has also purchased equipment and assigned funds for upcoming purchases of equipment such as assembly line equipment and food distribution trucks.
