Award Description: Understanding the development of antigen specific memory CD4+ T cells will allow us to design and deliver more effective vaccines.

Project Description: This proposal will focus on the role of type I interferon (IFN-a/B) in the regulation of adaptive memory T cell responses. With new preliminary data that has been generated over the last 6 months that demonstrates a clear defect in murine CD+4 T cell function in the absence of IFN-a/B signaling, the new preliminary data highlights the importance of IFN-a/B in regulating both primary and secondary responses in CD4+ T cells and form the basis of the current proposal.
