Award Description: The CIP program will allow CHC to continue addressing the community's healthcare needs by the following means: (1) CHC will increase acces to additional care by completing the new public housing clinic where we can deliver care in the most appropriate and responsive manner, minimizing the economic, transportation, cultural and other concerns that challenge the public housing residents. (2) CHC will improve efficiency and safety by renovating and creating the necessary climate controlled area for current and future IT server needs. This is fundamental as new equipment, essential to support functional growth and a full health information technology environment, is obtained. Replacement of worn floor coverings in high traffic areas of the main clinic will also preserve safety for patients, guests, and staff at this time. (3) CHC will also promote operational effectiveness by upgrading the accounting and billing software program. This upgraded tool supports full integration between business and mission-critical software applications that will allow staff to efficiently perform tasks required to successsfully manage programs, perform operations, and obtain information essential for administrative analysis and executive decisions.
Project Description: Implementation of the upgrade to the accounting program and initiation of the minor renovations to the main clinic will take place in October (next quarter). Construction/renovation activities for the new public housing medical clinic have not yet started. Community Healthcare Center continues to wait on a revised Notice of Grant Award (NGA) from HRSA indicating that all conditions to our grant award have been met allowing ground breaking to occur. Due to the large number of documents and applications HRSA has been reviewing, receipt of such notice may not occur until later in the month.
