Award Description: There are (3) separate projects under the ARRA - Capital Improvement Program grant. Project 1: Electronic Health Record and Information Technology Infrastrucure upgrades. Project 2: Neighborhood Health Center Plainfield. Project 3: Neighborhood Health Center Elizabeth. Project 1: represents an organization wide initiative to implement EHR readiness and related purchases. In order to complete this project, hardware and software infrastructure upgrades and the conversion of telecommunications/data networks to uniform technology platforms are necessary. In keeping with environmentally friendly 'green' technology whenever possible, an energy managment system will be installed which will result in a 20% decrease in power consumption at our main site in Plainfield, New Jersey. Project 2: represents key repairs and renovation initiatives needed at our main site in Plainfield, New Jersey. Including the replacement of defective HVAC units, worn carpeting and exam room tables, waiting room chairs, installation of handicap accessible doors and the resurfacing of a 72,000 square foot parking lot to remove cracks, holes and repair insufficient drainage issues. This project also includes the use of 'certified green' tiles, re-used (recyclable) asphalt and 'green sustainable' chairs. Project 3: represents the expansion of patient services through the relocation from a 2.470 square feet facility to a 10,000 square feet facility. This project includes relocation of existing staff and equipment as well as the purchase of additional medical/dental equipment, desktop workstations, office furniture, waiting room chairs and exam tables to accommodate increased patient volume.
Project Description: This quarter the primary focus has been on the HVAC repairs and Parking Lot renovations for our Plainfield, New Jersey site. Next quarter the remaining repairs, purchases and renovations for Plainfield as well as the next phase of the new Practice Management System (EHS) will begin.
Infrastructure Description: Upgrade to the parking lot and facility will significantly improve the quality of care and availabilty of services to the community.
