Award Description: To support arts projects and activities which preserve jobs in the nonprofit arts sector threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn.
Project Description: Funds to subrecipients have not been disbursed. Applications meeting award criteria were subjected to extensive panel reviews. The final panel recommendations received Board approval on August 27, 2009. Grant contracts will be issued to 14 organizations during the next quarter. Grants are intended to increase the ability of the grantee organizations to reach a broad geographic range of constituents and/or to reach underserved populations such as those whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics, or disability.
