Award Description: The aims of the project are to: 1) discover interactions using causal probabilistic models with application to cancer and disease pathways; 2) reconstruct the evolutionary history of gene regulatory networks; and 3) develop the UCSC Interaction Browser, an open-access portal for communicating gene network data to the scientific community. Identifying gene interactions is an essential step toward identifying genes of related function and is essential to understanding molecular processes and how they become disrupted in disease.
