Award Description: This action awards a COLA increase of 1.84% in the amount of $347,022 for Head Start and $33,146 for Early Head Start. This action also awards quality improvement funds of $998,485 for Head Start and $116,190 for Early Head Start. Funds will be allocated to improve the knowledge, skills and abilities of classroom and family partnership employees through the use of professional development support services.The playground at the YWCA Pagedale Center will be replaced. 3 additional Family Advocates will be hired.
Project Description: Two playgrounds were built at the YWCA Pagedale Center for Head Start and Early Head Start children totallying $206,610. Employees have begun receiving the 1.84% salary increase. The first payment for the CDCA mentor/coaches to support the improvement of skills of classroom and family partnership employees has been made in the amount of $83,184. Additionally $376,643 was awarded to our delegate agency for salary and benefit increases classroom supplies, training, tuition assistance and building improvements. To date we have disbursed $11,755.70 of the total award to our delegate.
