Award Description: This contract is for a rental of a cutterhead hydraulic pipeline dredge to be fully operated including the attendant plant and personnel. The dredge will be used to maintain various harbors at any points on the Mississippi River between Cape Giradeau, MO (Mile 48 UMR) and Greenville, MS (Mile 537 AHP). Dredged material is disposed of by discharging into the river or disposing in areas by retaining dikes or spillways as directed by the Government. Rental hours greater than 1,400 hours will be funded by this award. The dredging project's purpose is to maintain safe navigability of the river.
Project Description: The dredge was mobilized to the site and began dredging in the second quarter of 2009 and remained on assignment through the end of the 3rd quarter. Approximately 900 hours of rental time are funded by the award. The Hydraulic Cutter Suction Dredge Ponchartrain is the major piece of equipment on the contract.
