Award Description: Conduct modernization activities at various Public Housing developments. This funding can be expected to result in providing employment for architects and engineers, construction workers and product manufacturers. In addition this funding can be expected to substantially mondernize public housing units in this jurisdiction.
Project Description: Project includes the general renovations of 3 public housing communities encompassing 541 units. Activities include roofing replacement, flooring replacement, parking lot repair, HVAC replacement, electrical panel upgrade and associated architectural and engineering services.
Jobs Summary: ARRA funding has resulted in the award of four Architectural and Engineering contracts and five construction/modernization contracts. These work items were shovel ready projects that were on the Authority's HUD approved 5 year CFP Action Plan. These projects? scope of work was spread between the Authority's AMPs: Lincoln Park, North Phoebus, and Langley Village. The scope of work consisted of roof replacements, floor covering replacement, electrical panel-board upgrades, parking lot repairs and a Geo-thermal HVAC replacement. Jobs or positions retained through these engineering firms and construction companies were 3 roofers, 1 engineer, 2 laborers, 1 carpenter and 1 electrician.
