Award Description: Grant funds to allow State Primary Care Offices to assist in the coordination of activities for the delivery of Primary Care services, recruitment and retention of critical health care providers, and strengthening the primary care workforce administered through the National Health Service Corps to meet the demand to recruit new clinicians into the program and facilitate matching them to eligible sites.
Project Description: Efforts to develop and expand NHSC eligible sites and match health professionals to vacant positions at those sites. Health professionals include physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dental hygienists, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers and other mental health professionals. This program will complement health professionals looking for loan repayment opportunities, including the Frew Loan Repayment Program, the expanded Physician Loan Repayment Program and state Dentist Loan Repayment Program.
