Award Description: THESE FUNDS WILL ASSIST COLTS IN THE PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) HYBRID REPLACEMENT BUSES THAT SHOULD ASSIST IN THE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE OF LACKAWANNA COUNTY, AS WELL AS TO INSTALL A SECURITY SYSTEM TO THE BUILDING, A NEW COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AND BIKE RACKS TO BE INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLES

Project Description: Four hybrid low-floor buses have been ordered with anticipated delivery date in early 2011 through agreement with KVHWV; RFP/RFB issued for the Security System in September, with an award date anticipated in November; bicycle racks being reviewed for vendor and style; communications systems to be ready for RFP/B in December.

Jobs Summary: jobs created at this time are unknown? more likely jobs are being retained at the bus manufacture plant and will be retained in the security installation field. Although the buses have been ordered, Gillig informs us there could be delays due to the high volume of orders. Also, the security project is expected to be awarded in November so that is when we anticipate impacting jobs. (Total jobs reported: 0)

Project Status: Less Than 50% Completed
